As an NGO, The Board of Directors, who performs their services in an entirely voluntary capacity, is the employer and is the body to which all staff members are ultimately accountable. The Board of Directors, accountable to sponsors, under the leadership of Janis Berard meets every second month. The board consists of: Dr. Wallace Mgoqi - Hon President; Llewellyn Adamson; Dr Joe Chikombola; Ms Elaine Deas; Mr Nceba Mazamisa; Ms Nombeko Mlambo, Ms Esme Thwaits, Ms Cathy Clarke, Ms Irene Sauls (an ex-student). Management, educational, work placement and financial reports are presented or tabled at Board meetings for approval.
The manager is responsible for managing all functions (including consultants and the IT Manager) of the organisation and providing leadership and strategic direction, which is subject to approval by the Board. She is accountable directly to the Board.
Cathy, a founder member of BSDC is our fundraiser and projects manager who is responsible for fundraising and co-ordinating all projects and joints ventures with our partners. The fundraiser is directly accountable to the Board of Directors.
The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing, monitoring and attending to our Open Source system and is accountable to the Board of Directors.
The ETD Manager is accountable to the Board of Directors and is responsible for all educational programmes, course accreditation, materials development and strategic planning.
All teaching staff, contract and fulltime staff is accountable to the ETD Manager.

The YAC office reports to the Centre Manager and its staff assists BSDC graduates find jobs; give career advice; run workshops for ex-students to polish up their skills; assists in marketing and recruitment.
The Bookkeeper/Bursar and PA to the Centre Manager reports to the Centre Manager.
Our Receptionist is a BSDC ex-learner who gains work experience and later moves on into the public or private sector in order to create an opportunity for another ex-student.
